You may have heard the phrase ‘We are all in the same storm but we are not all in the same boat’. As I become more and more aware of the great need facing many families here I can’t get away from the fact that while we are concerned with the effects of Corona virus, the greater fear for many in communities and townships is how they will feed their families, their children.

I have spoken to many of these families personally; those who have lost their jobs, those who at the best of times struggle, those who rely on informal employment and can receive no support from the government. We can’t do everything but we can all do something.

So what is my something? Well… I’ve decided to run a marathon!

On the 1st of June I will be running 42km around Table Mountain so that, with your support, we can help put food on some of these families’ tables.

I will be partnering with our incredible Hillsong Africa Foundation, who are doing significant work in supporting the most vulnerable by providing the most essential food items. You can find more information by clicking here.

I have a goal to raise €5000 (100,000 Rand) which will feed 1000 families (of 5) for over a week.

2. Join me and Walk/Run ‘1 km to feed 1 family’ on June 1 – spread the word by asking some friends/family in your world to support and donate to this cause.
